high school arts & SCHOLARSHIP programs

Desert Art Center helps high school students move toward future artistic goals by providing Scholarship awards toward a college arts education and an opportunity to display their artwork in a traditional gallery setting with public reception and weeklong exhibition.

Scholarship Program

Each year since 1965, the Desert Art Center has awarded scholarships to high school seniors accepted to an art or design-related degree program at a credited art school, college or university.

In early spring, candidate students are invited to submit:

•A completed application

•A brief statement about themselves and their educational goals

•Two or more pieces of their artwork

•A letter of recommendation from their art teacher.

Applicants should check our event calendar for submission deadline date.

Scholarships are awarded at a special presentation that recipients are expected to attend. Parents, families, teachers and friends are invited.

Applicants will be notified by email and a follow up letter.
