Jury Submission for New Gallery Members

The Desert Art Center is opening up the opportunity to submit your artwork to our jury for review during the month of November.  If it is accepted you can  become a new Gallery Member (or an existing Gallery Member in a new gallery display subcategory - see GALLERY DISPLAY RULES) in the DAC and display your artwork in our February show opening Friday, February 10.  Note: if you are not an active member of the DAC, you must join as a regular member in order to complete this registration. There is a non refundable $10 submittal fee which will be applied to your $40 gallery hanging fee if your work is selected by the jury.   This also entitles you to attend a training class on how to submit your artwork to our website.

We are asking that all applicants submit their work digitally.   The dates for the submittal of your application and photos are November 1 through November 30, 2016.   Please refer to the Desert Art Center Gallery Hanging Rules for description of gallery display categories: GALLERY DISPLAY RULES. 

All works must be submitted digitally via your member profile photo album between November 1 and November 30, 2016.  You must create a photo album entitled "Jury Submissions".  We are asking that you submit between 6 and 10 photos.  Entries must be in JPEG, GIF, PNG, or TIFF formats not to exceed 100MB in size and should be a good representation of your work. The title of each photo should contain the Title of the work, the medium, and width x height (x depth if 3D). You can access your photo album at your System Profile.

For those needing assistance in setting up a photo album, classes will be provided in our small gallery on Sunday November 13 and November 27. You will need to use the code JURYREG to complete a registration for a training class.

Members will be notified by e-mail by December 19 with the results of the jury's review . If your work is accepted, you will be eligible to become a Gallery Member.  Since all Gallery Members who show work in the gallery are required to spend one day a month hosting the gallery, the new Gallery Members are required to attend an orientation, pay their $40  gallery hanging fee (less the $10 submission fee) and $10 membership badge fee. Date(s) of the orientation will be announced later. 

Art intake for new juried Gallery Members will be Monday, February 6, 2017 for our February Show opening on Friday, February 10, 2017. 

Once you are a Gallery Member and pay your annual Gallery Member's dues you may show your work in our gallery.  Please note, if you allow your DAC membership to lapse for a period of one (1) year, you lose your privilege to exhibit in the gallery and will need to be rejuried to restore your gallery status, so it is important to maintain at least an active Regular membership.

By submitting artwork, artists acknowledge insurance is the responsibility of each individual artist.  The Desert Art Center will not be held responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged property owned by you.
