BOTANICAL ART WORKSHOP with Jude Wiesenfeld

This workshop is an introduction to the art of botanical painting. It is intended for anyone with some experience in watercolor, who is interested in this unique type of art.

We will cover the history of botanical art, basic plant and leaf shapes, how to study and make notes on your subject, masking and composition.

Everyone will start a painting on 140lb. Arches paper.

Materials list 
Bring your --

• OttLite (or similar daylight bulb light source),
  
• sketchbook (at least 9” X 12”),
  
• 2B, 2H & HB pencils,
  
• watercolors and palette,
  
• containers for water,
  
• a board to mount your paper (you can use cardboard from a
  
• box),
  
• tracing paper,
  
• 140lb. Arches paper.
  

NB: I will bring extra tracing paper, 140lb. Arches paper and lots of other supplies.
