CONSIDER A TAX DEDUCTIBLE CONTRIBUTION TO THE DAC
The Desert Art Center’s new Art Education Fund started this year to provide monies to the local schools for the advancement of the art, needs our members support. Our Middle School Art Program, (MSAP) which is financed by this fund has been a terrific success.
Sally Hedberg and our member teachers, Molly Preston and Andrew Gillespie (drawing) , Susan Smith Evans and Irene Maloney (printmaking), Robert Rogers and Adele Hill (clay), and Moira Johannessen and Joyce Kingman (water color) will be receiving the Palm Springs Unified School District’s “Shiny Apple’ award January. With the success of this pilot program we will be continuing it in February and hopefully in the years to come.
Another major outreach effort of the Desert Art Center is providing college scholarships to talented senior High School art students who want to pursue additional art education. This program is supported through income from the co-op gallery and by generous donations.
In addition to funding the MSAP and scholarships, additional money raised through your contributions, special DAC activities, and any scholarship money that is not used will be given to the Fine Arts Coordinator of the Palm Springs Unified School District for special art program projects, such art materials, field trips etc.
You may donate here to support these programs or to the general fund.
